MEMBERS
Regional groups meet regularly, where guests presenters are often asked to share industry best practice from their specialised area. Skills and knowledge are passed on to members with the aim of improving farming practices as members work towards a sustainable future for agriculture in Tasmania. The Association’s executive seeks to be actively involved with policy development as well as contributing comments and feedback on proposed changes to the industry likely to impact on Association members. They work closely with key state holders in the rural sector and take its role very seriously, often lobbying and advocating on behalf of members to ensure a fair and equal representation within the rural and wider community.
Handbooks are distributed across the state and both contractors and advertisers benefit from this state wide exposure, historically regular advertisers acknowledge that the Handbook is value for money in terms of their advertising dollar.
PRICES
Refer to the Handbook for suggested price structures. Charges per hour or per bale are listed as well as suggested harvesting per hour rates by category. Charges are suggested and subject to GST.
External influences such as fuel, wages, travel and WHS will have an influence of actual costs. An increase in rates may apply when work is being performed in raised beds and clients requesting specific farm hygiene requirements should check with the contractor as additional charges may apply.
